What are Partial Dentures?

Partial dentures are a great solution for those who have lost some, but not all of their teeth. They provide an affordable and reliable way to replace missing teeth without the need for more invasive procedures such as implants or bridges. Partial dentures are removable prosthetics that replace missing teeth. They can be made from acrylic resin, metal, or a combination of both materials and typically consist of false teeth attached to a gum-colored base. Partial dentures can help restore the function and aesthetic of your smile while also providing support for adjacent natural teeth.

At Choice Dental, we offer a full range of partial denture options to suit your needs and lifestyle. At Choice Dental, our  denture services are handled by our experienced denture prosthetist Yuri Park.

Getting Fitted for Dentures

Getting fitted for partial dentures is a multi-step process that begins with an initial consultation with your denture prosthetist. During this appointment, we will determine what kind of dentures are the right option for you.

Once it has been determined that partial dentures are the best course of action, impressions of your mouth may be taken in order to create a customized set of dentures. Following this, a wax mold will be used to simulate the shape and size of the new dentures so that you can try them on and check for fit or make any necessary adjustments. The molds will then be used to manufacture a custom set of dentures.

Once the dentures have been created, they will be ready to be fitted in office. During this appointment, we will evaluate how the dentures fit and make any necessary adjustments so that they fit comfortably and securely within your mouth.

Dentures should be comfortable and secure; however, they may require some adjustment during the first few weeks of wear in order for them to fit properly and securely. It is important to take good care of your dentures so that they stay in proper condition and last as long as possible – this includes cleaning them daily with a special brush and soaking them in solutions that are approved for use with dentures.

If you have any other questions about getting fitted for dentures please feel free to reach out – we would love to hear from you!
